About Michael Wilburn
Hi, I'm Pastor Michael. I have the privilege of serving as senior pastor of Lexington Baptist Church in Lexington, VA. I am a proud graduate of Piedmont Baptist College. I completed a BA in Biblical Studies in 2002, and a MDiv degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Virginia Beach in 2007.
While attending Piedmont I met the love of my life, Sarah. She graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from PBC as well. We were married six years ago.
We've been serving Lexington, VA since 2002. Church life reveals to me the desperate need for the two-handed approach of theology and ministry, which is the focus of this blog. I believe God never intended academia to divorce itself from practical ministry or pastors to separate themselves from theology.
I love spending my time at home with Sarah and our new daughter Chloe. She's teaching daddy to relax because God is in complete control. My beautiful wife, Sarah, is a stay-at-home mommy while finishing her MA in elementary education from Liberty University.
I enjoy reading, drinking fresh brewed coffee or white chocolate mochas and cheering for the Cincinnati Reds, who haven't made the World Series in 17 years (and this year aint looking to promising).
The rest is worthless trivia for you to know me better:
